Humidity control in greenhouses and other indoor plant environments
When choosing dehumidification equipment, there are a number of variables that have to be considered to ensure that it operates effectively with the crop and production facility. In this webinar Dr. Nadia Sabeh discusses:
- How to transition from indoor production facilities to greenhouses.
- How to select a dehumidification system.
- The impact of plants on dehumidification.
- How relative humidity control impacts disease and pest

Supplemental greenhouse lighting during propagation
Light is the driving energy source for photosynthesis and carbohydrate accumulation in plants. During propagation, cuttings and seedlings require a minimum quantity of light to provide the energy for root initiation and development. Light intensities below this minimum result in little or no root development, leading to a delayed crop or rooting failure. Conversely, too much light can bleach leaves and reduce root formation due to excessive stress on the cuttings.
Find out how to properly manage supplemental greenhouse lighting during propagation with Erik Runkle and Roberto Lopez from Michigan State University.

Funding Opportunities for CEA Energy Efficiency
This webinar will introduce some key funding opportunities to help CEA growers install energy efficient equipment. Growers and manufacturers will learn how to leverage federal, state, and utility funding to identify opportunities for energy efficiency and contribute towards the installation cost of the identified projects. Attendees will also learn about utilizing the joint GLASE/EnSave software tool to share operational details of their CEA facility to further the GLASE mission.
Presented by EnSave Chief Operating Officer Amelia Gulkis. The webinar was hosted by GLASE director Dr. Erico Mattos.

A Proposed Horticultural Lighting Label
Recent advances in light-emitting diode (LED) technology now provide the horticultural industry with multiple lighting options. However, growers are often unable to compare technologies and LED options due to insufficient data on lamp performance metrics. As a result, researchers are now proposing a standardized product label that facilitates the comparison of lamps across manufacturers. Dr. A.J. Both from Rutgers University and Ryan Siddon from Intertek will talk about the importance of horticultural lighting standards, the proposed horticultural lighting label and the unique requirements for horticultural luminaires.
Presented by Rutgers University professor and GLASE researcher A.J. Both and Intertek horticultural lighting specialist Ryan Siddon. The webinar was hosted by GLASE director Dr. Erico Mattos.
